William H. Woodruff, D.D.S.
In practice for 37 years, Dr. William H. Woodruff's passion for dentistry continuously thrives. Dr. Woodruff completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor in 1971 with a major in Speech Pathology in addition to his pre-dental studies. Dr. Woodruff received his Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) degree in 1975 from Howard University College of Dentistry. Dr. Woodruff completed an externship in Oral Cancer at Cornell University in 1974. Dr. Woodruff entered private practice in Detroit, Michigan in 1975 where he practiced until 1997, when he moved his practice to West Bloomfield, Michigan.
Dr. Woodruff is a lifelong learner as he continues to take advanced training in courses to maintain his expertise in the field of dentistry. He is a certified provider of Snap-On Smile.
Dr. Woodruff is heavily involved in the greater community of Metro Detroit. He is a Life Member of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP). Other memberships include the Michigan Better Business Bureau and University of Michigan Alumni Association. Dr. Woodruff is also an active member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Iota Rho Lambda Chapter. In 2008 and 2012, Dr. Woodruff's Orchard Maple Family Dental office served as campaign headquarters for the West Bloomfield Democratic Party supporting Presidential Candidate Barack Obama.
Dr. Woodruff frequently performs volunteer dental outreach to local schools, churches and health clinics. Orchard Maple Family Dental supports the West Bloomfield School District and the annual West Bloomfield United We Walk, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., holiday celebration. In 2003, Dr. Woodruff and his wife were presented the Oakland County Lifetime Volunteer Leadership Award for Outstanding and Invaluable Service to the Community by the Greater West Bloomfield Michigan Week Committee.
As a dedicated husband and father of two, Dr. Woodruff has many interests outside of dentistry. Dr. Woodruff is outgoing and always enjoys meeting new people. He attends NorthRidge Church in Plymouth, Michigan. He also is an avid sports fan of all of the Detroit sports teams and the University of Michigan football and basketball teams. His hobbies include interior decorating, swimming, golf, bowling, movies and traveling.
